Footballs Responsibility
Are our footballing heroes setting a fine example to the youths who follow them and hang on every word that they say? It doesn’t seem so as Saturday’s Manchester United v Manchester City clash at Wembley proved.
Rio Ferdinand a seasoned pro footballer and idol to thousands of kids was seen to react with anger and actually having to be held back from a physical confrontation with Mario Ballotelli after the City striker
celebrated in front of United’s fans. The act was seen as provocative by Ferdinand who reacted with great anger and tried to get at Ballotelli in front of the worlds cameras and gaze! Ballotelli took great delight in the victory over the reds and inflamed the situation even more by winking at Ferdinand!
After all is said and done this is a game of football and not life or death! and it seems that the managers are no better, Arsen Wenger also threw his dummy out of the pram when he had a few words with King Kenny after his teams defeat by Liverpool.
After close analysis of the game it seems that Liverpool scored more goals than Arsenal, hence why Wenger was upset? Poor sportsmanship and sore losers coupled with huge egos doesn’t set a great example to kids!
How do we manage the image set by the players and managers without making the game to clinical? you still have to have the passion but it can be ugly at times?
Your thoughts?
Casey Stoner vs Valentino Rossi
Well this ones hotting up nicely, Casey may have stirred the old master into life with his remarks at the last round of the motogp world championship “your ambition outweighs your talent” erm ok Casey! well Rossi has hit back with “my trophy cabinet outweighs yours”
Theres nothing better than a bit of rivalry in motorcycle racing, Foggy v anyone, Rossi v Gibernau, Spies v Maladdin and so on……. sit back and enjoy the show as this one unfolds
Who will come out on top? my bet goes with the old hand.
